Azerbaijan, NATO discuss military cooperation

Colonel General Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, met with a delegation led by Lieutenant General Max A.L.T. Nielsen, Commandant of the NATO Defense College (NDC), during the latter's visit to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defense reported.

Colonel General Valiyev highlighted the successful reforms implemented in the Azerbaijan Army, the army's victory in the Patriotic War, and the integration of combat experience into the troops' training. He praised Azerbaijan's cooperation with NATO through various programs and underscored the importance of further strengthening these relations.

Lieutenant General Nielsen expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan. He commended the contributions of Azerbaijani servicemen to NATO peacekeeping missions and partnership initiatives.

The meeting included discussions on advancing military education cooperation and other topics of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and NATO.
