“As we know, COP30 will be held in Brazil, and we have already begun close cooperation with Brazilian think tanks,” said Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), during a side event on "Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels: Challenges and Opportunities for Climate Action in Troika Countries," held as part of COP29.
The event brought together representatives from Brazil, Azerbaijan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss the role of the oil and gas sector in the energy transition.
Farid Shafiyev, who described the oil and gas sector as a core element of both Azerbaijan's and Brazil’s economies, emphasized that the event would focus on the challenges and opportunities involved in transitioning from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources.
