The Finish newspaper "Maaseudun Tulevaisuus" has published an article by Zaur Ahmadov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, highlighting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), set to take place in Baku this November.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is taking the lead in transitioning to renewable energy sources, the ambassador noted that the country is planning to generate 30% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. The diplomat outlined the country’s plans to export renewable energy to Europe, which once again confirms its commitment to combating climate change.

In his article, Ambassador Zaur Ahmadov also highlighted the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance (NCQG), which will replace the $100 billion finance goal, Azerbaijan’s initiatives such as the COP29 Truce and the Harmony Climate Initiative, both of which are aimed at tackling climate challenges.
