Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov has emphasized the need for further enhancing trade and bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries. During his visit to Lahore, the capital of Punjab Province and Pakistan’s second-largest city, the Ambassador met with Punjab Governor Salim Haider Khan and other senior officials. Both the dignitaries discussed the ways for enhancing trade and other bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The Governor appreciated the Azerbaijani ambassador's role and efforts in facilitating direct flights between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and promoting mutual exports, highlighting various investment opportunities in Pakistan.

During a state visit to Pakistan in July this year by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, both the countries signed 15 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, science and technology, tourism, air services, and cultural exchange programs.

The introduction of direct flights between Baku, Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore by AZAL and Pakistan International Airlines opened new avenues for tourism, trade, and people-to-people connections between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
