TRNC Prime Minister: Northern Cyprus is ready to deepen relations with Azerbaijan and Türkiye

“The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) intends to deepen relations with Azerbaijan and Türkiye,” Ünal Üstel, the TRNC Prime Minister, said in a meeting with Azerbaijani MP Ramil Huseynov and Chairman of the Youth Union of the New Azerbaijan Party Bakhtiyar Islamov. The Azerbaijani officials are visiting Nicosia to join the 21st Congress of the National Unity Party, the major political party of Turkish Cypriots.

Ünal Üstel once again expressed his gratitude to Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan for supporting the steps taken to promote the interests of Nicosia in the international arena, including within the Organization of Turkic States.

He highlighted the need for relations between the countries to strengthen through political party cooperation, with the National Unity Party playing an active role. He also underlined the importance of youth associations in advancing these ties.

MP Ramil Hasanov, in his turn, expressed the New Azerbaijan Party`s readiness to boost dialogue with the political parties of Türkiye and the TRNC.

Oguzhan Hasipoglu, General Secretary of the National Unity Party and leaders of the party's youth leagues were also present at the meeting.
