Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Xavier Bettel, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The discussion revolved around the cooperation between the two countries, as well as the regional and international security situation.

The sides underscored the important role of such contacts in developing the existing relations between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg, and holding discussions on issues of mutual interest.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the progress in process of normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

FM Bayramov emphasized that the ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian legislation, as well as Armenia’s rapid militarization, are the main factors threatening the sustainable peace-building process in the region.

During the telephone conversation, the ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
