President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at International Cernobbio Forum in world media spotlight

The influential media outlets around the world have widely covered Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s speech during the session titled “Azerbaijan's role in the new geopolitical environment” at the International Cernobbio Forum themed “Intelligence on the World, Europe, and Italy.”

The articles, published by “Reuters”, “Bloomberg”, “Financial Post”, “The Straits Time”, “World Energy News”, “Aol”, “WTVB”, “XM”, “US News” and “WTAG”, drew the readers` attention to President Ilham Aliyev`s statements made during the session. The articles highlighted President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks on the Southern Gas Corridor, which ensures energy security for ten countries, and the President`s confidence on Ukraine gas route talks.

In the articles published in Italian RAI, ANSA, "Borsa Italiana" and other media outlets, highlighted President Ilham Aliyev`s remarks on Italy-Azerbaijan partnership. The authors quotes the President as saying: “Italy is Azerbaijan’s number one trading partner in the world. Azerbaijan is Italy’s number one oil supplier and number two gas supplier. This is also an important part of our cooperation. The 3,500 km integrated pipeline system from Azerbaijan to Italy, known as the Southern Gas Corridor, today ensures energy security for ten countries. We now have ten countries receiving gas from Azerbaijan, seven of which are members of the European Union. That is probably why the European Commission calls Azerbaijan a pan-European gas supplier and a reliable partner.”

Russian federal media, including "TASS", "RIA Novosti", "Interfax", "Vestnik Kavkaza", "Regnum" news agencies, "Izvestia", "Lenta.ru", "Moskovskiy Komsomolets", "Komsomolskaya Pravda", " "News.ru" and TV channels featured the Azerbaijani President’s remarks on the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, saying that: “The biggest geopolitical change, not only in the Caucasus but in the broader region, was the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. We are actively continuing negotiations, with almost 80 percent of the peace treaty paragraphs having been approved. We have already started the border delimitation process, and not only delimitation but also demarcation.” The articles also touched upon the President`s remarks on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as saying: “If our involvement is needed, we are ready to participate in the resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.”

Leading media outlets of Türkiye, including Anadolu Agency, TRT, Haber Global, Sözcü, Sputnik Turkey, Haberler.com, Son Sakika, Star.com, Milliyet, Cumhuriyet, "Yeni Şafak" newspapers, as well as media organizations operating in many different formats, also highlighted President Ilham Aliyev`s remarks on Azerbaijan's role in Europe's energy security, strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy, ensuring lasting peace in the South Caucasus, and new accomplishments in the peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
