Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss prospects for military-technical cooperation

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Director General Agil Gurbanov met with a delegation led by Haluk Gorgun, President of the Secretariat of Defense Industries under the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, who was visiting Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

The Director General expressed his pleasure at the delegation’s visit and emphasized the significance of such meetings in strengthening cooperation with the fraternal country.

In turn, Haluk Gorgun expressed gratitude for the hospitality and confidently remarked that joint production projects between Azerbaijan and Türkiye would enhance the defense capabilities of both countries' Armed Forces.

The meeting, which included Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci and management from leading Turkish military-industrial enterprises, focused on the current state and future prospects of military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries. There was also an extensive exchange of views on other mutual interests.

During their visit, the Turkish delegates also met with Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade who is acting as Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan – Commander of the Air Force. The guests were briefed on the history and ongoing activities of the Central Command Post of the Air Force, with all their questions addressed.
