The 13th plenary session of TURKPA will contribute to the further expansion of cooperation between the Turkic states,” said Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova as she addressed the official opening ceremony of the 13th plenary session of TURKPA.

In light of the concerns around climate change, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova stressed the need for the Turkic states to unite and collaborate in this regard.

Sahiba Gafarova noted that combating climate change and preserving the environment are one of Azerbaijan's top five priorities adding: "In November, Azerbaijan will host a prominent event aimed at tackling this global challenge. As part of COP29, a parliamentary conference will be organized with the participation of hundreds of parliamentarians from the countries of the world.”

The Speaker of the Parliament also drew attention to the fact that huge infrastructure works are being carried out in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories. She concluded by saying that the country also seeks to carry out important projects in renewable energy in these territories.
