The upcoming negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be held exclusively between the parties; there is no talk of mediation by Astana, Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov said during a briefing in Astana, according to Report.

"Indeed, we are planning such negotiations in Almaty. We are now in touch with our colleagues in Azerbaijan and Armenia. The upcoming negotiations will be held exclusively between the parties. There is no talk of Astana's mediation. We are only providing goodwill services - the so-called good office," he said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide more detailed information later. The date of the negotiations is still unknown.

"If these two parties come to peace and it is signed here, the positive effect will affect not only Kazakhstan, but the entire region," Smadiyarov added.
