Deputy US Special Envoy for Iran visits Baku, discusses sanctions enforcement with Hikmat Hajiyev

The Deputy US Special Envoy for Iran, Abram Paley, visited Azerbaijan, Report informs.

“Fruitful discussions in Baku with Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President, Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iran, Ali Alizada, and banking sector representatives about Iran, sanctions enforcement, and the region,” Paley said on X.

He also met with Israel’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, George Deek.

“Great conversation with Israel’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, George Deek, in Baku about our close coordination to address concerns about the Iranian regime’s destabilizing behavior in the region. Wonderful to hear about Israel’s historic and cultural ties to Azerbaijan,” the US special envoy said.
