The deployment of weapons and ammunition to the conditional border stems from Armenia's intention to start a new war, political scientist Samir Humbatov told Report.

The expert said that the reason why Armenia took this step was the rise of revanchist forces in the country: "It seems that they have started putting pressure on Pashinyan's government and are trying to drag Armenia into war again. Another important issue to pay attention to is the latest ambiguous statement of Russia, especially the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova. They did not tell Armenia that it should not enter the war. They just called on both parties to exercise restraint and left the issue open in the end."

Humbatov believes that the third factor that encourages Armenia to deploy troops to the border is the European Union-Armenia-US military pact, which is expected to be signed on April 5: "The attempt to sign this pact comes from Armenia's intention to somehow strengthen its hand. They are trying to incite revanchism in Armenia. These are the reasons behind Armenia's attempts to re-enter the conflict with Azerbaijan. If we state that we are are in favor of normalizing relations with Armenia and such steps are taken by the other side, then both the West and other circles do not want the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan."

The political pundit said that the mentioned forces consider the signing of the peace agreement as the complete elimination of the risk of a new war in the South Caucasus and are preventing it from happening: "That's why they are trying to stir up the issue again. This can be clearly seen especially in the example of France, which armed Armenia. Although Armenia made a peace announcement some time ago, it did not act accordingly. Until the day the peace treaty is signed, the views expressed by the other party in this direction cannot be taken seriously. Because its words and deeds do not match. We can consider Armenia's attempts to create new conflict conditions as a result of the international community not taking any measures against Yerevan. Armenia's attempt at war could lead to conflict and numerous casualties. Azerbaijan will give an adequate response to the steps taken by Armenia."
