Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister meets with Director General of World Health Organization

Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister Ali Asadov has met with Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

 

During the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of the 11th Global Baku Forum as an authoritative platform for discussing the issues of concern to the sophisticated world.

 

They mainly emphasized one of the forum`s panels related to healthcare challenges. The two commended the level of long-term useful cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the World Health Organization.

 

Prime Minister Ali Asadov highlighted the crucial healthcare reforms implemented in Azerbaijan. He noted that one of the priorities of the state policy ascertained by President Ilham Aliyev was development of the healthcare system, ensuring qualitative and accessible medical services for population, meeting the world`s standards.

 

The programs and projects carried out in Azerbaijan`s healthcare system coincide with the priorities of the World Health Organization and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

 

The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the World Health Organization.

 

The event was also attended by Azerbaijan`s Minister of Health Teymur Musayev.
