Azerbaijanis casting their ballots in Georgia

The polling station has opened at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia, allowing Azerbaijani citizens to cast their ballots in the snap presidential election, starting from 8 a.m. local time.

 

Chairman of the Precinct Election Commission, Ambassador Faig Guliyev, who cast the first vote, described the election as a historic event for the country, stressing that for the first time after the restoration of independence, the presidential election is held across the entire territories of Azerbaijan.

 

Guliyev highlighted that Azerbaijani citizens aged 18 and above, currently working, studying, or on temporary assignments in Georgia, are eligible to exercise their voting rights. The embassy has ensured all necessary conditions for the election process.

 

Consul General Parviz Ismayilzada, Chairman of Batumi Precinct Election Commission, mentioned that consular staff, employees of Azerbaijani companies in Batumi, as well as Azerbaijani students and citizens temporarily visiting Batumi, will cast their ballots at the polling station. He assured that all conditions have been created for them to vote freely.

 

The voting process will continue until 7 p.m. local time.
