Jeyhun Bayramov: TURKPA plays a vital role in advancing relations among Turkic states at the parliamentary level

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations Osman Mesten.

 

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on cooperation within the TURKPA and the preparatory process for the snap presidential election in Azerbaijan.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov described TURKPA as a pivotal platform for fostering fraternal and friendly relations among Turkic states at the parliamentary level.

 

He stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing cooperation across political, economic, social, cultural, humanitarian and other domains. The Minister emphasized that interactions among Turkic states at different levels stimulate mutually beneficial cooperation within regional and international organizations.

 

Regarding the preparatory process for the snap presidential election and the efforts of the Foreign Ministry, Bayramov noted the historic importance of the election, the first to be held across the entirety of the republic`s territory since the restoration of its sovereignty. He mentioned the establishment of 26 polling stations for voting in the liberated territories.

 

Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations Osman Mesten hailed Azerbaijan`s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. He expressed his confidence that the election results would significantly contribute to Azerbaijan`s further development.

 

During the meeting, the parties also discussed other issues of mutual concern.
