El Universal, Mexico's most influential newspaper boasting a wide readership, published an article headlined "Azerbaijan: between injustice and the search for peace in the Caucasus."

Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico, that the article by Talya Iscan, political commentator and Professor of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, emphasizes that in the context of the complex international relations, covering many world conflicts, recent events within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) regarding the Azerbaijani delegation have caused concern and debate. These actions, which appear to be a blow to Azerbaijan's participation in PACE, raise questions about the impartiality and validity of such restrictions. It is worth paying attention to the contradictory nature of these steps, which accuse Azerbaijan of actions recognized by the international community as committed by Armenia.

The author notes that this is happening in light of the recent unjustified actions of the West against Azerbaijan, mainly under the leadership of France: "This begs the question of the inconsistency of these actions, since Azerbaijan is a long-time ally of the West in Afghanistan, in the northern direction and in Iraq, and also plays an important role in European energy security.

Perhaps the decision not to confirm the accreditation of the Azerbaijani delegation may be related to France's recent aggressive position against Azerbaijan. This also creates a danger for peace, since supporting Armenia's unrealistic hopes and its revanchist circles could undermine the peace process in the region. It seems that Armenia is not showing sufficient sincerity in this process, since all members of the Armenian delegation to PACE voted against Azerbaijan's accreditation."

In the article, Talya Iscan points out that after 23 years of Azerbaijan's membership in the Council of Europe, against the backdrop of political stability in the country and the restoration of the affected territories, some began to attack Azerbaijan in PACE: "This raises questions about the goals behind such actions."

"Currently, the European Union has chosen the path to become an unconditional ally of Armenia, ignoring justice in its biased and hostile attitude towards Azerbaijan. This activity contradicts the stated values of the European Union and can lead to increased political tensions in the region. European policies inciting Armenia in the Caucasus and hindering the peace processes, is contrary to the principles declared by the European Union. This position, supporting conflicts outside its region for its own reasons, creates the impression of double standards in diplomacy," the article says.
