The Riyadh Herald, a Saudi Arabian newspaper published in London, has issued an extensive editorial article titled “Azerbaijan is an important country for Arab world”.

The author of the article emphasized a pivotal event held in the British Parliament a few years ago, focusing on the investment prospects of Azerbaijan. During this event, the organizers attached particular importance to the Arab media, inviting representatives of the Arab diaspora press, British politicians, investors and journalists.

"We must admit that this event was a decisive for us. For many years, the international community, including the Arab world, treated the former Soviet republics as a group of similar states. The careless approach to these republics by Western media and the lack of interest of Arab politicians and journalists prevented a comprehensive understanding of the importance of these republics stretching from China to the Caucasus.

At that event, Leyla Aliyeva, the daughter of President Ilham Aliyev, highlighted the potential of her country and the concessions it offers to investors. These facts motivated us to reconsider our perceptions of Azerbaijan," the article reads.

The editorial describes Azerbaijan as the most secular country in the Islamic world, emphasizing its simultaneous high regard for religious values. It notes the priority of Turkish identity for Azerbaijanis, highlighting its significance in the liberation of territories from Armenian occupation.

The article further discusses the strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Gulf countries in the context of recent events in the Middle East region. “Expanding the geography of cooperation with Arab countries constitutes an important and concrete course of action for Azerbaijan. The country is rich and has great potential. The model of UAE-Azerbaijan relations serves as a veritable exemplar, with the two countries maintaining close relations in many domains. The leaders of states, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Ilham Aliyev, met three times last year. During the recent visit of the UAE President to Baku, discussions included issues of strategic and economic coordination. Emphasis was placed on the commitment to joint action to ensure peace in the region, and important documents on cooperation were signed.”

The publication also highlights Azerbaijan's relations with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other Arab countries.
