We will lend assistance to Azerbaijan in demining activities carried out in its liberated territories,” Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili told journalists.
Noting that Saudi Arabia will provide support to Azerbaijan until the last mine is neutralized in the liberated territories, the diplomat said: “Our joint projects with Azerbaijan are implemented in line with the instructions of Saudi Arabia’s leadership. The Kingdom has the utmost respect for the head of state and the people of Azerbaijan. Saudi Arabia’s involvement in this project is a clear evidence of the close relations between the two countries. We are sparing no efforts to enhance relations with Azerbaijan in healthcare, education, culture and other domains. Saudi Arabia wishes to stand by Azerbaijan in addressing the issue of demining and collaborate in fighting that scourge.”
The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the Medical and Environmental Department of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre have today signed a memorandum on providing financial assistance to meet challenges of the ongoing humanitarian mine action in Azerbaijan.
