The Italian news portals "Agenzia Nova", "Diplomatic Correspondent Blogspot", "Agen SIR" have published an article by Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Holy See Ilgar Mukhtarov highlighting the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the return of IDPs to their native lands, as well as the landmine issue in Karabakh.

In his article, Ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov highly appreciated Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis’ call on January 8, wherein he urged Azerbaijan and Armenia to sign the peace treaty.

The article drew the readers’ attention to the fact that the main obstacle for safe return of IDPs to their homes are landmines planted in the liberated territories.

"We commend international community’s assistance, as well as those who support us in the restoration of our liberated territories. Azerbaijan, as a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional country, has always demonstrated respect for all religions and paid maximum attention to the protection of their heritage,” the diplomat underlined.
