The assignment of COP29 to Azerbaijan is related to its modern infrastructure and security, Aygun Aliyeva, Executive Director of the Agency for State Support to NGOs, said at the public discussion about the importance of COP29 to be held in Azerbaijan next year with the participation of civil society representatives, Report informs.
According to him, Azerbaijan, especially after the anti-terrorist measures, has become one of the safest countries, which attracts everyone's attention.
The executive director emphasized that Azerbaijan is also doing serious work related to environmental safety: "I am confident that we will successfully host COP29 and see its dividends. This is our first public discussion on COP29. Similar initiatives will continue."
