The process of exchange of detainees indicates that a new page has opened in Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, Doctor of Political Sciences Malkhaz Gulashvili told a correspondent of the Georgian bureau of Report, commenting on the exchange of detainees between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“This is an important step for establishing peace in the Caucasus, since the economic development of the region depends on the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” the political scientist said.
He added that peace in the region will serve the development of the Middle Corridor, which in the future means new jobs and strengthening the economies of countries.
Gulashvili noted that after the steps taken, a peace treaty should be signed: “Sustainable peace in the region is very important for the Armenian people. They must also understand that there is no need to covet someone else’s territory.”
