Russian media outlets have widely covered Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the Summit of the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
The articles, published by “Moskovskiy komsomolets”, “TASS”, “Arqumentı i faktı”, “News.ru”, “Lenta.ru” and “Profile.ru” drew the readers’ attention to President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks on return of up to 140.000 refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur by 2026, as well as restoration of 100 residential settlements at the initial stage.
The articles also highlighted the construction of new towns and villages in the liberated areas, as well as the allocation of some of $2.4 billion from the budget for reconstruction works in Karabakh in 2024.
