The decision on provisional measures adopted by the International Court of Justice dated November 17, 2023 regarding the application the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) once again refuted Armenia's groundless claims against Azerbaijan at the legal level,” said Sabina Aliyeva Azerbaijan’s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman),

“Tolerance is deeply rooted in history and culture, rich traditions, and has solid foundations in Azerbaijan. Ensuring the rights and freedoms of individuals of diverse nationalities and religions residing in Azerbaijan is a priority at the state level. We place a high value on co-existence guidelines and cultural diversity," she stated.

The Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan then added: "As the human rights commissioner of Azerbaijan, we ensure the rights and freedoms of everyone living in the country, regardless of their nationality, religion, race, ethnicity or any other affiliation.”
