Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with a delegation led by member of the Council of Representatives (Parliament) of the Republic of Iraq Arshad Rashad Al-Salihi.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the recent increasing dynamism of relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq, recalling in this regard the visits of the President of Iraq and the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs to Azerbaijan in March and July of the current year, respectively, as well as the high-level meetings held as part of these visits.

They also highlighted the importance of continuing the current political dialogue, economic-trade relations, inter-parliamentary and inter-regional cooperation and cultural exchanges between Azerbaijan and Iraq.

The sides noted that in addition to the existing diplomatic representations in both countries, the promotion of humanitarian exchanges through cultural centers would contribute to bringing the two peoples closer to each other.

During the meeting, they also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
