A 23-year-old woman from the Masalli district of Azerbaijan has made a remarkable recovery after falling into a coma due to an overdose of fever-reducing medications.
Report informs, citing the Clinical Medical Center (CMC), that the young woman was hospitalized in their toxicology department on December 31, 2024, in a critical condition with diagnoses of liver failure and meningoencephalitis.
The cause of the poisoning was determined to be the uncontrolled intake of fever-reducing drugs. The patient spent a week in a coma and an additional five days in a soporous state. After intensive treatment in the intensive care unit, her condition stabilized.
Following nearly a month of inpatient treatment, doctors noted positive dynamics in her recovery. The patient was discharged home in satisfactory condition for outpatient observation by a hepatologist.
