Several events on the occasion of October 18 – the Day of Restoration of Independence were held in the Army Corps, formations and military units, as well as special educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Army, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

During the events, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

The speakers highlighted Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s exceptional merits in the fate of the Azerbaijani people, in the establishment and development of the modern Azerbaijani state, and emphasized the achievements gained in the socio-political, economic, and social life of the country, as well as in the army development during the leadership of the National Leader. It was stressed that Azerbaijan is steadily developing due to the successful continuation of the National Leader’s wise policy by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.

According to the plan, various historical museums were also visited as part of the events.
