Provocations of Armenia’s armed forces and remnants of the criminal regime in the Azerbaijani territories against Azerbaijan on both conditional border and in the Karabakh economic zone are steadily intensifying and their geography is expanding.
The increased number of provocations observed in recent years is another testimony to this.
Although, the number of provocations committed in July this year on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conditional border and Azerbaijan’s Karabakh economic region was 28 (12 – on conditional border, 7 – in the Karabakh economic region, usage of quadcopters and drones – 1, fortifying works – 6, other provocations - 2), it reached 45 in August (17 – on conditional border, 3 – in the Karabakh economic region, usage of quadcopters and drones – 4, activity of sabotage groups – 2, fortifying works – 11, other provocations - 8). September saw the dramatic increase in the number of provocations. The number of provocations shot up to 61 in first half of September alone (29 – on conditional border, 3 – in the Karabakh economic region, usage of quadcopters and drones – 6, activity of sabotage groups – 1, fortifying works – 18, other provocations - 4).
It all testifies that Armenia does not accept peace proposals made by Azerbaijan and is interested in increasing tension in the region. The Azerbaijan Armed Forces take all necessary measures to prevent the Armenia’s provocations. Azerbaijan reiterated repeatedly that responsibility for the intentional tension in the region lies with military and political leadership of Armenia.
