The next feature in AZERTAC’s “If I Were a Tourist” column turns its spotlight on Bulbul’s House-Museum in Shusha.
The city of Shusha, a cradle of Azerbaijani culture, is also recognized as a city of museums. The House-Museum of Bulbul, the Azerbaijani People’s Artist, is one of the major tourist destinations in the city. The renowned musician was born here, spent his childhood, and began his musical journey in this house, which has been operating as a museum since 1982.
The house-museum ceased its operation during the occupation of Shusha but was restored following the city’s liberation. The museum features exhibitions highlighting the life, work, and legacy of Bulbul.
A new bust of Bulbul has been erected in the courtyard of the house-museum, while the original bust, damaged during the occupation, has been preserved as evidence of the acts of vandalism committed.
Visitors can familiarize themselves with the life and work of the prominent singer, as well as the music, culture, and history of Garabagh.
