Winners of first-ever international alpine skiing tournament in Azerbaijan awarded

The winners of the first day of the “Azerbaijan Open” international alpine skiing tournament, co-organized by the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation and Shahdag Mountain Resort under the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) calendar, have been announced.

Georgian alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri claimed first place, while Swedish athlete Nikita Anner and Uzbek skier Ksenia Brezhnaya secured second and third places, respectively.

The two-day tournament features 20 female athletes from Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Georgia, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Nepal, and Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan is represented by alpine skier Anastasia Papatoma.

The tournament will continue until January 10, with athletes competing for championship titles in the Slalom and Giant Slalom disciplines.
