Co-op prospects between Azerbaijani, Uzbek scientific communities discussed at BSU

As part of the Days of Science and Culture of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan, a meeting with the scientific community of this country was held at the Baku State University (BSU), Report informs.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, the first deputy chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of this country Akmal Saidov and other guests.

At the opening of the event, the rector of the university, Elchin Babayev, made a welcoming speech.

“Baku State University is ready to support an important dialogue between the scientific community of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, having entered a new stage of development, have become a model of successful economic cooperation, which has led to the strengthening of scientific ties between the two countries,” he said.

According to the rector, the key event in cooperation between the countries was the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to create a secondary school No. 1 named after Mirza Ulugbek in the city of Fuzuli.
