“Azerbaijan`s animation film “Hadis” has won the "Best Animated Film" award at the 11th Silk Road International Film Festival held in Türkiye.

The director of the screenplay is Nazrin Agamaliyeva, with Rashid Agamaliyev as the producer, and scriptwriters Ismayil Iman and Nazrin Agamaliyeva. Masud Panahi served as the consultant, and the score of the film is composed by Sevda Alekbarzade.

Dedicated to the memory of 22-year-old Azerbaijani Turk, Hadis Najafi, and all those battling gender, ethnic, and cultural discrimination in Iran, the animated short film "Hadis" highlights Najafi's tragic death on September 21, 2022, at the hands of Iranian security forces. She has since become a symbol of Azerbaijani resistance and ethnic struggle in Iran.

Produced by ANIMAFILM Studio with financial and conceptual support from the Azerbaijan Cultural Society of Northern California, the film received media backing from the Azerbaijan Animation Association, Akinchi platform, and Skwigly Animation Magazine. The film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the world's largest animation festival.
