The first meeting of the Global South NGO Platform will be held in Baku with the participation of non-governmental organizations from almost 100 countries in April, public relations manager of Azerbaijan's Agency for State Support to NGOs Ulviya Garayeva told Report.
According to Garayeva, foreign NGOs have recently been actively supporting the initiatives of Azerbaijani NGOs.
Garayeva noted that the idea of creating the Global South NGO Platform arose during the Baku Climate Conference COP29.
According to the agency's representative, this is the first time in the history of the country that civil society institutions from regions covering 71% of the world's countries have expressed support for the initiative of Azerbaijani NGOs.
