FC Bayern have signed Jonas Urbig, according to the official website of the club.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper joins from 1. FC Köln and will be at the German record champions until 2029.
Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director: "We are delighted that in signing Jonas Urbig, we have been able to complete another transfer with a view to the future. He is one of the most promising young goalkeepers in German football, is very ambitious and has huge potential. Jonas is a modern goalkeeper who, with the way he interprets the goalkeeping game fits in very well with FC Bayern's style of play."
Jonas Urbig: "FC Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in the world. I'm proud to be here now and I'm looking forward to getting to know my new team as quickly as possible. My goal is to work on myself professionally every day and to continue to develop in our goalkeeping group led by Manuel Neuer."
Jonas Urbig took his first steps as a footballer in the youth setup at 1. FC Köln where, among other things, he celebrated winning the German championship at U17 level. He made his professional debut in January 2023 while on loan at Bundesliga 2 club Jahn Regensburg and then earned a place in the senior team at his home club after another season on loan at SpVgg Greuther Fürth. He's made a total of 60 appearances in the German second tier to date. Urbig has been involved in the German Football Association's (DFB) youth teams since October 2019. So far, he has made eight appearances for the Germany U21s.
