Azerbaijan, Türkiye held meeting of Joint Permanent Commission on cooperation in field of labor and social security

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and Türkiye’s Ministry of Labor and Social Security held the 12th meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission on cooperation in the field of labor and social security in Ankara.

Before the meeting, Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection, and his Turkish counterpart Vedat Işıkhan held a bilateral discussion to exchange views on the current state of cooperation in the social sphere and the agenda of the upcoming session.

The participants of the Joint Permanent Commission emphasized that thanks to the efforts of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the relationship between the two brotherly nations has continuously developed and was elevated to the level of a strategic alliance with the signing of the Shusha Declaration in 2021.

The meeting also focused on future joint activities.

The sides stressed the importance of ongoing mutual exchange of experience and information in areas such as combating informal employment, labor protection, vocational training, pension provision, implementation of digital services, and others.

They also spoke about the outcomes of the Commission's meeting and the future directions of cooperation.

Subsequently, the ministers signed the Protocol of the 12th meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission.

The Action Plan for 2026–2027, added to the document, reflects future cooperation directions between the two ministries during the specified period.

It also outlines joint efforts in strengthening active employment measures, increasing employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, labor migration, improving labor protection and developing training infrastructure, combating informal employment, pension provision, social insurance, labor market monitoring and forecasting, the application of digital technologies, and other areas, as well as the exchange of information and experience.

As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation familiarized itself with the activities of the Turkish Aerospace Industries company.
