Azerbaijan expands ties with Central Asian tourism markets

The Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau under Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency participated in the Luxury Travel Mart (LTM) event held in Baku, Tashkent and Almaty on February 18-24.

Report informs, citing the agency, that within the framework of the events, meetings were held with more than 25 leading tourism companies and tour operators from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and cooperation opportunities were discussed with industry representatives.

Within the framework of the discussions focused on the premium tourism market, the participants were informed about Azerbaijan's international ski, health and recreation centers, as well as luxury tourism opportunities and the business tourism sector.

In 2024, the number of visits to Azerbaijan from the Central Asian region amounted to 180,528 people, which is an increase of more than 34% compared to 2023.

Direct flights operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Air Astana, FlyArystan and Uzbekistan Airways between Baku and Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Tashkent and Dushanbe increase the number of mutual visitors and strengthen ties between the countries.
