ICRC reaches out to over 1,400 families of missing persons in first half of 2024

In the first six months of 2024, trusted individuals trained by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide psychosocial, legal, and medical support have reached out to more than 1,400 families of missing persons in Azerbaijan, according to Report, which cites the ICRC.

These dedicated individuals have also paid over 350 visits to family members of those whose remains were identified and returned to their loved ones during the funerals. The ICRC's unwavering commitment to supporting families of those missing is a beacon of hope amidst the pain and uncertainty they face.

The conflict has left a staggering number of people missing, with an estimated 4,000 Azerbaijanis and 1,000 Armenians currently unaccounted for, based on information provided by families to the ICRC.
