The Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) have agreed to sign a new cooperation agreement, as Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, met with Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung, VNA Deputy General Director, on the sidelines of the 2nd Global Media Forum held in Shusha.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation between the two news agencies. They hailed the long-term fruitful partnership between AZERTAC and VNA, noting that their collaboration contributes to deepening relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam and expanding media relations.
The discussion also highlighted the growing relevance of confronting fake news in the modern information society. While acknowledging the positive impacts of artificial intelligence on news production, they also expressed concern about the creation and dissemination of false narratives.
The conversation focused on how to elevate the cooperation between the news agencies in light of the challenges of the modern era, the rapid development of technology, and the transformation of the media landscape. Consequently, AZERTAC and VNA agreed to renew their cooperation agreement. This renewal will facilitate a broader exchange of information, including photo and video materials, and enhance joint efforts in combating disinformation.
