Chinese Shaanxi province delegation visits AZERTAC

A delegation of Chinese Shaanxi province visited on Friday AZERTAC news agency.

During the meeting, held between Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC news agency Vugar Aliyev and a delegation led by Sun Daguang, Director-General of the Publicity Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the sides discussed the development of cooperation in the field of information between Azerbaijan and China.

The parties also exchanged views on the current state of and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of media.

Speaking about AZERTAC's partnership with China's Xinhua News Agency, Chairman of Board Vugar Aliyev said that both agencies maintain regular exchange of information, successfully collaborating within the framework of international organizations, as well as implementing joint projects. The Chairman of Board noted that Chinese is one of the eight languages, in which AZERTAC is producing news, adding that the agency organizes, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute, Chinese language courses for its employees.

AZERTAC Chairman of Board Vugar Aliyev also highlighted the activities of agency in the territories liberated from occupation. He underscored that currently, demining remains one of the most important challenges in the liberated territories.

Sun Daguang mentioned that the cultural heritage of Shanxi province will be presented within the framework of the visit to Azerbaijan. He mentioned that the delegation consists mainly of representatives of cultural sector. Saying that China and Azerbaijan maintain cooperation in various fields, Sun Daguang emphasized that the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province is the starting point of the Great Silk Road. The head of Chinese delegation hailed Azerbaijan’s successful development.

The meeting also saw exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
