Sharifov: Azerbaijan to present its vision in Tbilisi in coordinating positions on climate

Azerbaijan, which is hosting COP29 this year, plans to offer participants at ADB’s annual meeting a vision of its role in bringing together the positions of the parties to climate agreements, as well as actions to ensure that the principles and goals that were set when signing these agreements are implemented, Samir Sharifov, Minister of Finance and Governor of Azerbaijan at the ADB, told journalists in Tbilisi on the sidelines of the 57th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Report informs.

“This year, one of the priorities is also to represent Azerbaijan as the host country of COP29. Therefore, we will participate in a number of panel discussions on developing a greener future in Asia,” he said.

According to the minister, Azerbaijan’s participation in the annual meeting of the ADB is traditional.

“But traditionally, this is not only the meeting itself, but also a mass of various seminars, conferences, discussions during which there is a fairly fruitful exchange of views on issues of economic cooperation,” the minister added.
