Astana hosts 77th meeting of CIS and Baltic States Railway Transport Council

The 77th meeting of the Railway Transport Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic States has today kicked off in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Representatives of Railway Authorities of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, as well as Estonia and Latvia as guests, are attending the meeting.

The three-day event will feature discussions regarding the maintenance and repair of freight wagons, rules for using wagons in international transportation, maintenance of wagons used in transit transportation, as well as a number of other issues.

Heads of wagon repair enterprises participating in the meeting will make proposals on the modernization of railway wagons used in international transit transportation.

The meeting will run until April 8.
