The visit of an extensive business delegation, which includes representatives of 24 private Spanish companies, to Azerbaijan demonstrates the interest of business circles in developing bilateral trade and investment cooperation, the Chief Executive Officer of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Inmaculada Riera, said during the Azerbaijan-Spanish Business Forum in Baku, Report informs.
"Our countries are strengthening partnership relations in various fields, and the visit of Spanish State Secretary Maria Amparo Lopez Senovilla to Azerbaijan to initiate a strategic economic dialogue between the governments is an excellent opportunity to advance our cooperation one big step forward," she said.
According to her, despite the continuing key role of oil and gas in the economy, new industries with high investment potential are actively developing in Azerbaijan, including projects within the framework of public-private partnerships.
Riera identified energy, water supply, infrastructure, construction, engineering, and digitalization as key areas of cooperation.
According to her, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce is committed to improving trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan.
She also added that the COP29 climate conference, held in Baku in November last year, presented Azerbaijan's enormous business potential to the world.
