The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has recognized businesses, organizations, and non-governmental organizations that actively participated in nature conservation initiatives throughout 2024. The primary criteria for the awards included the implementation of projects aimed at improving environmental health, restoring biodiversity and ecosystems, and promoting ecological awareness.
Distinguished for its ecological initiatives, particularly in waste management and achieving remarkable results, the Red Hearts Foundation was honored with the title of “Best Partner of the Year” during the awards ceremony. The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, presented the award to the Foundation’s president, Yusif Poladov.
In 2024, the Red Hearts Foundation launched the “Zero Waste Solidarity Marathon,” a large-scale project spanning five economic regions. With the participation of 241 volunteers, three tons of waste were collected, and appropriate measures were taken to ensure its recycling.
Another notable project by the Foundation was the “Recycle Batteries, Protect Nature” campaign. Over the past year, this initiative safely collected 1,645 kilograms of hazardous waste. To expand the campaign’s reach, nearly 500 collection points were established. Additionally, the Foundation organized extensive awareness programs in educational institutions and communities to address the potential dangers of hazardous waste and highlight necessary preventive measures, thereby fostering greater environmental awareness.
“Red Hearts” was founded in December 2019 at the initiative of Kapital Bank employees. The organization, which operates as a foundation from 2020, mainly contributes to the formation of a culture of philanthropy in our country.
