In January–December 2024, electricity generation amounted to 28,394.1 million kWh in Azerbaijan, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said on X, Report informs.
During the reporting period, electricity exports amounted to 1,397.5 million kWh, and imports to 170.5 million kWh.
“Compared to 2023, generation increased by 1,247.8 million kWh at hydropower plants and by 476.9 million kWh at solar power plants. During this period, the share of renewables in electricity production was approximately 14%,” Shahbazov said.
