Azerbaijan gears up for hazelnut exports to China

Baku and Beijing are in talks on signing mutual protocols for the export of hazelnuts from Azerbaijan to China, Vafa Safarli, chief adviser of the Import and Export Control Department of Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA), said at the Plant Health Forum: Towards a Green World in Baku, Report informs.

"In order to export hazelnuts, as well as apples, pomegranates and almonds to China, the AFSA presented the results of the risk assessment to the competent entity of the other party through official channels. As a result of establishing the agency as a state institution that carries out unified state control in the relevant field, and carrying out control in accordance with the requirements of other countries in relation to exported plants and agricultural products, access to foreign markets has been increased, and the export volume has been increased," he said.
