Minister of emergency situations: Russia attaches great importance to co-op with Azerbaijan

The Russian Federation attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of emergency response, said Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs.

“Our partnership is based on the principle of good neighborliness and mutual trust. Over the past year, as part of our cooperation, more than 60 Azerbaijani specialists have been trained on the basis of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations,” Kurenkov said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov.

According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, experts have currently developed a Joint Plan for Cooperation from 2024 to 2026.

“In 2021, instructors from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted training courses to train Azerbaijani sappers. We are ready to organize similar courses again,” he added.

Taking into account modern challenges, the Russian Minister of Emergency Situations also proposed cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure.
