The 8th session of the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission (CACFish) under the FAO has kicked off in Baku Report informs.
The agenda of the two-day session includes a discussion of ways of sustainable management of water basins and aquatic biological resources in the context of sustainable development goals, the study of fish resources in the inland waters of the countries of the region, the preparation of regional principles for fisheries management, and the adoption of documents.
At the session, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are represented as members of the Commission, and Russia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia - as observers.
The Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, the heads of the State Water Resources, Azerbaijan Food Safety, and Small and Medium Business Development Agencies, and the resident coordinator of the UN in Azerbaijan, are taking part in the event.
