Doha hosts 39th General Assembly Meeting of Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture

The 39th General Assembly Meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (ICCIA) has been held in Doha, State of Qatar.

In his opening remarks, Director-General of the Department of Economic Affairs of the OIC Secretary-General Naghi Jabbarov stated that the ICCIA’s eminent role is important to recover the economies of OIC Member States through promoting intra-OIC trade and investment, agriculture, rural development and food security, tourism, and Islamic financial services, infrastructure development as well as women and youth employment. The Secretary-General also called on the ICCIA’s General Assembly to devise appropriate decisions for the timely implementation of the resolutions of the 9th Ministerial Conference of Food Security and Agricultural Development (MCFSAD), 5th Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers (ICLM), as well as the 39th Session of the COMCEC, which were held recently.

The Meeting approved the recommendation of the 35th Board of Directors of the ICCIA to change the name of ICCIA to the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). The Meeting also approved the new Logo of the ICCIA.

The Meeting also reviewed the report on the implementation of the programs and projects of the ICCIA for 2023 as well as its financial report for 2023. In this context, the Meeting approved the recommendations of the ICCIA’s Board of Directors Meeting on the Activities and Programs of ICCIA for 2024 and approved the Budget of the ICCIA for 2024.
