Barcelona, Arsenal advance to Champions League quarterfinals

Barcelona and Arsenal both advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals after beating their opponents on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.

Leandro Trossard scored a goal for Arsenal in the 41st minute and its match against Porto went to extra time after the tie finished 1-1 on aggregate after 90 minutes of the second leg.

Neither team was able to produce a goal in extra time, so the match concluded with a penalty shootout at Emirates Stadium.

Marko Grujic and Pepe scored for Porto in the penalty shootout while their teammates Wendell and Galeno each missed their penalties.

Arsenal's Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice scored their penalties.

The Gunners qualified for the quarterfinals for the first time in 14 years after a 4-2 win on penalties.

In another Tuesday match, Barcelona advanced to the quarterfinals with a 3-1 home victory over Napoli to seal a 4-2 aggregate win.

Fermin Lopez, Joao Cancelo and Robert Lewandowski scored for Barcelona while Amir Rrahmani produced a goal for Napoli at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
