Azerbaijan’s Science and Education Ministry to hold meetings within COP29

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Science and Education will hold meetings on several areas within the framework of COP29 events, Minister Emin Amrullayev said at the opening ceremony of the International Green STEAM Azerbaijan Festival, Report informs.

According to the minister, the first of those meetings is the International Green STEAM Azerbaijan Festival being held today:

"The next area is the framework for measuring environmental health, which has been proposed by Azerbaijan and approved by relevant parties, for the first time in PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) research, which will be one of the important legacies of COP29 with global significance."

"I believe that measuring environmental literacy along with reading, mathematics and natural sciences in future PISA tests, which will be discussed at the meeting of science and education ministers to be held in Azerbaijan on November 18 within the framework of COP29, will create additional value for humanity. We are also very pleased to participate in initiatives aimed at changing human behavior," noted Amrullayev.

He emphasized that significant meetings will also take place within the COP29 framework with international rating companies regarding the implementation of sustainable development strategies of higher education institutions.
