Azerbaijan is expected to experience average winter temperatures close to the multi-year norms, according to Nazim Mahmudov, head of the National Hydrometeorological Service.

Report informs that, according to Mahmudov, precipitation levels are also predicted to be near normal, with some areas potentially receiving slightly less than usual.

Mahmudov noted that an analysis of long-term meteorological data in Azerbaijan reveals that due to the climatic characteristics of the winter season, the country's territory is more frequently exposed to cold Arctic air flows in January and February.

"Therefore, although the winter season is expected to be relatively mild, it is not ruled out that weather conditions may be frosty and snowy in certain periods," he said.
